Summary:The Network Security Engineer is responsible for overall IT security operations of Susquehanna Health. The Network Security Engineer will work closely with the Admin Director of IT - Technology Services, Technology Team Leaders and the Director of HIPAA Compliance/Privacy Officer to design and implement effective IT security solutions to maintain a safe and secure IT computing environment. The Network Security Engineer is responsible for IT Disaster Recovery preparation and testing and for network/computer system security incident investigations. The Network Security Engineer will also monitor, remediate and escalate any issues that are found to threaten the confidentiality, integrity or access of data that threatens Susquehanna Health or its contracted partners.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:Advanced level of technical and operational knowledge of networking, network routing, network infrastructure and network security. Strong communication skills. Positive, flexible, motivated, cooperative and professional oriented. Able to work independently or in a group/team setting. Effectively and confidently communicates in a professional manner.
Education:Bachelor''s Degree in Information Technology Major (concentration in IT Security or IT Networking preferred), Computer Science or Electronics Technology, three (3) years experience in an advanced high level technical role in the installation and support of an enterprise network is required. Bachelors Degree requirement can be substituted with an Associated Degree in Information Technology Major, Computer Science or Electronics Technology with a minimum of five (5) years experience in an advanced high level technical role in the installation and support of IT security systems in an enterprise network and a high level industry certification is required. OR, Bachelor''s Degree can be substituted with a minimum of seven (7) years experience in an advanced high level technical role in installation and support of IT security systems in an enterprise network and a high level industry certification.
Experience:Three (3) years experience in an advanced high level technical role in the installation and support of IT security systems in an enterprise network is required. Relevant IT industry certification is preferred. Minimum of five (5) years hospital-based experience preferred.
License/Certification/Registration:Comp TIA Network
and IT Security based certification, Security
(or higher) is required. An advanced industry recognized certification in IT Security (such as CISSP) is required within three years. (Certifications accepted will be at the discretion of the IT/Technology Services Admin Director based upon current needs, requirements and Team assignment). Maintain a valid driver''s license.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:Ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds. Ability to maintain long periods of sitting in one position. Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching. Ability to view VDT for long periods of time. Ability to adjust vision to bring objects into focus. Good manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
